Medicines Quality Research Group Report; Indian task force strategy to control Covid-19 while avoiding lockdown and false vaccine hopes; Setbacks to WHO plan for global vaccine access.

1. A report prepared by the Medicine Quality Research Group, Centre of Tropical Medicine & Global Health, Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford of products that have been found to be poor quality or falsified in some way during the pandemic. The July report including annexes is available here.   It includes links to individual items as well as the annexes at the end. All sorts of products have been affected. The data on SF drugs were amazingly spread around the world and several of the defaulting countries have been in these ranks for many years. The scope of this present  document is surprisingly world-wide.

2. A joint statement prepared by an authoritative joint task force from Indian Public Health Association (IPHA), Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (IAPSM) along with Indian Association of Epidemiologists (IAE) provides a convincing pragmatic strategy for controlling the pandemic while avoiding lockdown and preventing false hopes on a vaccine. 3. A commentary by Dr Ravi Kanth (TWN) concerning the setbacks to WHO plans for a Global Vaccine Access facility caused by several countries’ ‘vaccine nationalism’.
